08 Jun Why is it important to wear shoes at home?
Walking barefoot on any hard surface for a long period of time is not good for your feet. This is because it causes the foot to collapse, causing great stress to the foot as well as to the rest of the body. The feet naturally pronate when we walk but when we walk barefoot for a long time, it changes how pressure and weight is distributed across the foot. This may eventually lead to foot deformities, like hammertoes and bunions, and painful foot conditions, like arch and heel pain, and Achilles tendonitis. The situation may worsen and even affect other parts of the body, such as the back and the knees.
