Dr. Steven E. Tager is a Board Certified Podiatrist specializing in lower extremity biomechanics, sports medicine and treatment of the foot and ankle at Oasis.
Dr. Tager has over 45 years of vast experience in the biomechanics and sports medicine fields. His conservative approach to treating patients with foot and leg problems uses advanced techniques that correct or compensate for a malfunctioning foot. Dr. Tager was awarded a patent in 1981 and 2006 for a unique, serial orthopedic wedge system. This patented device, when used appropriately, can compensate for a variety of structural foot abnormalities, both
inherited and acquired that are known to cause many of the common foot and leg conditions plaguing the public today.
Dr. Tager completed his Undergraduate studies at Arizona State University and received his medical degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his surgical residency at St. Luke’s Hospital and Children’s Medical Center in Philadelphia. He began private practice in Crantson, Rhode Island. After 16 years of harsh weather he headed west and opened another private practice in Cupertino, California.
Dr. Tager’s high level of expertise has allowed him to work closely with athletes from the college level to the professional level. He was the attending podiatrist to many of the New England Patriots from 1978-1981.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Tager has a passion for American made mantle clocks from the early 1900’s. He enjoys traveling, playing golf and spending time with his wife, five grown children and seven grandchildren.
Dr. Tager dedicates himself to providing excellent treatment for those with lower extremity biomechanical concerns. His conservative approach often eliminates the need for surgery and gives our patients the opportunity to lead a very active life.
